Bishop Harold W. Jones Sr
Harold W. Jones has been chosen by God to “win souls” for the kingdom of God. He readily admits he is first an
evangelist and secondly a pastor. The moving of the Holy Spirit and the demonstration of the power of God has been tremendous in the life of Harold W. Jones. In 1986, Brother Jones was called into the ministry. He began a Tuesday evening Bible Study in the home of Sister Gladys Roland of Tulsa, Oklahoma. Shortly after, Pastor Landrum opened the doors of her church and welcomed Brother Jones to preach. After a few months, he went back to in-home Bible Studies, this time in various homes throughout the Tulsa area. In the beginning of 1986, Reverend A.G. Bales, pastor of “Free Will Full Gospel Church” of 50 years, opened his church doors to Brother Jones to have church services. In 1986, God called Brother Jones into pastoralship and he accepted that call. At the ending of 1986, Pastor Harold and his wife, Lonzetta Jones, purchased the church and changed the name to “Full Gospel House of Prayer.” The church was located in a small building in Turley, Oklahoma and known as “the little white church across the tracks. After a few years, the congregation grew rapidly. The “little white church across the tracks” could no longer house all of the members. In May 1995, Pastor Harold and First Lady Lonzetta
Jones purchased a larger church, located at 1609 North Evanston Place, Tulsa, Oklahoma. Over the past years,
thousands of souls have been saved through the ministry, thus causing church membership to grow immensely. With a larger congregation, the ministry has grown as well. A Bus Ministry has been implemented, with a fleet of nearly two dozen buses, a Christian Child Care, the H.O.P.E. (Helping Oppressed People Elevate) Program, which is a ministry offered to those that are dealing with alcohol/drug addictions, as well as several different forms of Community Outreach Projects. The Lord has given Pastor Jones a “vision” of purpose for this ministry. And with this “vision”, an understanding that “we serve God, by serving humanity." In the ministry, we assists those that are in need of food, clothing, finances, and spiritual counseling. We are a church where people feel the love of God and see it in action. A church where men, women, and children come together in unity and are trained in the Word of God to reach their fullest God-given potential. Pastor Jones’ motto is “Without God, I Can Do Nothing”, thus knowing that through God, all things are possible. In 1996, Pastor Jones received a Bachelors of Arts in Biblical Study from Carolina University. In 1998, many changes were implemented at Full Gospel House of Prayer. Pastor Jones was led by the Lord to change the name of the church to Full Gospel Family Outreach Ministries. It remained “Full Gospel” because we continue to teach the full gospel- “Family” because we are reaching out to families- “Outreach Ministries” because we are reaching out to the community; to souls. Strong families make strong communities. Our main mission at Full Gospel Family Outreach Ministries is to win souls and see them grow toward spiritual maturity in Christ Jesus. In 1998, Pastor Jones was elected to the office of a Bishop. In addition to Full Gospel Family Outreach Ministries, he oversees other churches in Arkansas, Kansas, and Colorado.
In order to best serve the Tulsa and surrounding areas, we have purchased 10 acres to build a large enough church to accommodate the ministry. We will build that facility at 56th Street North and Cincinnati, Tulsa, Oklahoma. God shall bring it to past. For we know with Him, all things are possible. Due to the rapid growth of the ministries, we have three Sunday Worship Services to accommodate the members of the church, as well as the visitors. Membership continues to grow rapidly. In 2000, the Jones Learning Center was added to the campus of Full Gospel Family Outreach Ministries. The purpose of the Jones Learning Center is to provide family enrichment, academic tutoring, and computer training, for economically disadvantaged families. In 2001, the Harold W. Jones Ministries was organized, with the purpose of extending natural and spiritual empowerment and influence in the lives of people of all races. Under both entities, Full Gospel Family Outreach Ministries and Harold W. Jones Ministries, Bishop Jones serves the community in various forms. He is an active member of the Ten Point Coalition, which is an organization consisting of various pastors of the Tulsa area with the unified goal of reaching the young generation, to decrease gang violence and gang related activities. Bishop Jones serves the community by officiating funerals of gang-related and non-gang related deaths. He officiates funerals at no charge; he views it as an opportunity to reach “the living.” An opportunity to spread the Gospel of Jesus Christ. He reaches people spiritually as well as naturally. We have implemented a food bank; The Food For The Nation, in which food is distributed to low-income families. Bishop Jones networks with other Outreach Programs, such as Cornerstone Assistance Network, which is an organization that works with churches to assist economically disadvantaged families. Cornerstone also hosts the annually citywide Convoy of Hope Event, in which Bishop Jones supports. The Genesis One Program, which is an After Care Program for individuals released from the Prison System. Bible Studies and Outreach Groups are conducted at several Low-income Housing Complexes throughout the Tulsa area. School supplies for children are provided by the church, as well as assistance for pharmaceutical prescriptions, food, clothing, and guidance through the Word of God. Full Gospel Family Outreach Ministries provides sponsorship to the Avalon Correctional Center, the Turley Correctional Center, the Riverside Correctional Center the Salvation Army, John 3:16 Mission, and the Twelve and Twelve Center. On-site Bible Studies are conducted at these facilities as well as transportation to and from services conducted at Full Gospel Family Outreach Ministries. Committed to the work of the community and the successful development of Tulsa's youth, in 2004, Bishop Jones and Full Gospel Family Outreach Ministries, partnered with Youth Services Of Tulsa, under their North Tulsa Youth Mentoring Program; in which Bishop Jones serves on the Board for the program. In 2004, Full Gospel Family Outreach Ministries opened a Community Youth Center for teens called "GOD", an acronym that stands for Generation Of Destiny; with the mission to train up young people in the Word of God so they may reach their full potential by working together in the unity of the Father.
In 2004, Bishop Jones received an Honorary Doctor of Divinity in Humane Letters. He was also the recipient of the Hall of Honor Community Service Award from the 100 Black Men of Tulsa Organization.
